Paulie Polyphemus, flagrante delecto
A CAUTIONARY TALE
While taking our daily constitutional, we chanced upon a lovely moth, grounded.  Thinking it might be ill, we stopped, only to discover that it was 2 moths, locked in amorous dalliance.

The female, shyly, is lying under the stick.
Prurient interest aroused, we tried to get a revealing close up

But failed.  Interestingly, the center of each "eye" is transparent.
To gauge the size, I placed a coin near them.

Oblivious, they continued to desport themselves athletically.

We returned some 2 hours later to find that they were finishing,  the female in a fugue state:

The male, overcome by his exertions, barely sensible:

24 hours later, the female has flown away, the male can manage barely a twitch,
and looks to soon expire.
POST COITUM OMNE ANIMAL TRISTE
with good reason, it seems.
